Thanksgiving Potluck Celebration Recap

In November Hello Neighbor mentors, mentees, supporters and friends met to celebrate a successful 4th cohort!

December 4, 2019

On a chilly Saturday afternoon in November, over 150 Pittsburghers from around the world gathered together at the Carrick Rec Center to give thanks, play games, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the successful completion of Hello Neighbor’s 4th cohort!

For the last 6 months, Pittsburgh families, couples, and individuals have mentored refugees and immigrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, and Algeria. Together, they’ve practiced driving, celebrated birthdays at the zoo, splashed around at the pool, cooked and shared meals, welcomed new babies, filled out forms for school, and so much more.

At Hello Neighbor’s Thanksgiving celebration, friends of all ages enjoyed eating, playing, and laughing together!

Thank you to all of Hello Neighbor’s mentors, mentees, friends, and supporters for making our Thanksgiving Potluck so wonderful!
