Introduction to Women’s Health

By Sloane Davidson,  January 22, 2019

Hello Neighbor is excited to announce a new partnership with AJAPO focused on Women’s Health Programming!

Through focus groups with potential participants, we heard about a variety of topics that many of our refugee women were interested in. Women’s Health and Nutrition and Wellness emerged as the main topic of interest.

The programming is taking place at the Carnegie Library of Carnegie. For these sessions, we have focused on our Arabic speaking women. In the future, we will focus on other cultures. Over four weeks, our goal is to provide education and hands on interaction centered on the following topics:

  • January 14th: Women’s Health 101 with UPMC Magee
  • January 28th: Nutrition and Wellness with Adagio Health
  • February 11th: Fitness in the home with Schoolhouse Yoga
  • February 28th: Basics of the Over Counter Medication with Asti’s Pharmacy.

We are excited to be offering this programming! Contact Kara Kimicata (kara@helloneighbor.io) with any questions or if you would like to partner or support this initiative.
