On Thursday, October 22, we hosted our biggest event of the year, Neighborhood Nosh, at The Maverick in East Liberty! Neighbors from across Pittsburgh came together for an unforgettable evening celebrating the cultures, cuisines, and stories that make our community so special.

The evening kicked off with our VIP reception, where guests enjoyed drinks, conversation, and the opportunity to connect with fellow supporters. Throughout the night, guests explored our gift card pull featuring donations from 38 local businesses, enjoyed delicious food and drinks, and celebrated the many ways our neighbors contribute to Pittsburgh's vibrant community.

Guests were treated to incredible dishes from Malaysian Kitchen, Maissa's Kitchen, El Colibrí, People's Indian Restaurant, and Caribbean Food Snacks, along with drinks from Hey Babe. The Thanakarn Limtham Trio brought the perfect atmosphere to the evening with live jazz, creating a lively backdrop for a night of celebration and connection.

As the evening continued, we gathered to recognize three outstanding members of our community: Representative Lindsay Powell, our New Neighbor Advocate Honoree; Golden Bone Pet Resort, our Good Neighbor Honoree; and Joanne Goodall, our Volunteer of the Year. Each has made a meaningful difference in the lives of our newest neighbors through their dedication, generosity, and commitment to building a more welcoming Pittsburgh.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was our Mission Moment, when we shared a personal story highlighting the experiences of a family building a new life in Pittsburgh and the role Hello Neighbor plays in helping families find stability, connection, and community. It was a powerful reminder of why we gather each year and the importance of continuing this work together.

And thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised over $100,000! These funds will help Hello Neighbor continue providing vital services and support to refugees and immigrants as they build safe, stable, and successful lives in the Pittsburgh region.

As we reflect on another Neighborhood Nosh, we're filled with gratitude for the community that made it possible.
