Education & Access
Education & Access creates opportunities for refugees and immigrants to build confidence, develop skills, strengthen relationships, and fully participate in their communities. The department intentionally uses the word “access” to push our collective understanding of access beyond disability to also include language, culture, information, relationships, and opportunity.
Education & Access is Hello Neighbor's community-building department. Through education, volunteer engagement, and cross-cultural relationships, these programs foster belonging and education while reducing isolation and increasing social connection. Many of Hello Neighbor's largest volunteer initiatives are housed within this department because volunteers play a critical role in building bridges across lines of difference and creating welcoming communities.
