Events.

A big part of Hello Neighbor is events, both for the participants of our programs and for the community. We held 17 events in 2017 with over 3,000 people in attendance overall, an average of 150 per event!

Events with Hello Neighbor.

Our Events

Upcoming: Find out about what open community events we have planned for 2018 through the Hello Neighbor Facebook page! We will also post upcoming events to our website and share these through our email newsletter.

Hello Neighbor has two kinds of events. About half are only for members of the Hello Neighbor mentorship program. We call these our “signature events” and include our educational days at places like The Andy Warhol Museum, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and The Heinz History Center. Our additional events are open to the community and include film screenings, outdoor potlucks, and sports games like joining us at a Pirates or Riverhounds game.

We believe that part of the success, self-sufficiency and independence or the refugee families is connected to feeling more comfortable and confident in their new homes. By creating spaces for diverse, inclusive and fun experiences we hope to give everyone an opportunity to be themselves and to meet our newest neighbors.

We are still programming for 2018 events! If you'd like to partner please send an email to info@helloneighbor.io.

Thank you to our 2017 partners!

We've also had the privilege of many local businesses supporting our efforts through in-kind donations or reduced pricing. Thank you Metamorphosis Salon, The Shop Homewood, Istanbul Sofra, Salem's Market, Driftwood Oven, Blume Honey Water, Colangelo's Bakery and a special thank you to Alloy 26, The University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and The Harnisch Foundation for space to hold events!
