A big part of Hello Neighbor is events, both for the participants of our programs and for the community. We will hold over 15 events in 2017 with over 3,000 people in attendance overall, an average of 150 per event.

Events with Hello Neighbor.

Our Events

Our events are an opportunity for our new neighbors, the refugee families, to experience Pittsburgh and for you to get to know them. By creating spaces for diverse, inclusive and fun experiences we hope to give everyone an opportunity to be themselves and to meet new neighbors.

We believe that part of the success, self-sufficiency and independence or the refugee families is connected to feeling more comfortable and confident in their new homes. So we get out in the neighborhood and connect by hosting potlucks in parks around the city, visiting cultural institutions like museums, going to sports games and partnering with local nonprofits to introduce our mentors and mentees to as many resources as possible.

We are already planning for 2018 events! If you'd like to partner please send an email to
