Mom and Baby Essentials Distribution Event

On July 22nd we hosted our second Distribution event geared toward refugee mothers and babies.

July 22, 2020

Following the success of our last Distribution Day event, we hosted a second distribution at our office on Wednesday, July 22nd. This event focused on mom and baby essentials, such as diapers, feminine hygiene products, car seats, strollers and more.

This distribution event was held at our office and all volunteers, staff, and attendees were required to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines as outlined by Allegheny County.

We had 28 families attend and we now have 94 families enrolled in our Smart Start for Refugee Moms and Children program to get the essential items needed to make it through this critical time.

None of this would have been possible without the help of our amazing partners: Beverly’s Birthdays, Global Links, SisterFriend and local church groups who donated supplies, and of course our incredible team of volunteers who helped the event run smoothly - from prepping materials to loading up cars for families.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and attended this event to make it such a remarkable success!

“I don’t know how to thank you for all you did for us. This was a very hard time because our benefits stopped and we had the baby. I don’t know what we would have done without your assistance.” - Yvonne, mentee and new mom.
