Together, We Go Far

As our newest neighbors leave their pasts behind, it is more important than ever to shine a light on the journey ahead.
Now through December 31st, we’ve set out to raise $100,000 to assist our newest neighbors here in Pittsburgh. Will you help us reach our goal?

Every dollar you donate up to $25,000 will be DOUBLED thanks to a generous match from a local family foundation! Will you help us reach our goal of raising $100,000?

When the Road Ahead is Uncertain, Together We Will Go Far

How do you decide what’s next after leaving everything you’ve known?

Our nation’s newest neighbors have come a long way by the time they arrive in Pittsburgh. After waiting years and leaving behind communities, languages, careers, and support systems, they’re finally ready for what’s next.

Navigating this new chapter is pivotal for their success, and we can all make a significant impact by being there from the moment our new neighbors step off their plane.

‘Together, We Go Far’ is inspired by the critical first moments when a new refugee family arrives by welcoming and embracing them. Your generosity will support our mission to safely transport families to their new homes in a Hello Neighbor van we can call all our own. Sharing this safe space demonstrates our refugee-first mindset and ensures all families can stay together as they embark on their next chapter.”

Help Us Secure Future Transportation for Our Newest Neighbors Through the Year 2025!

Only with the support of community members like you can Hello Neighbor purchase a 15-passenger van, which will serve as a comfort and safety staple for newly arriving neighbors. Since the Hello Neighbor logo doesn’t have to be read in English to be recognized, any new neighbor can see our bright logo and know they are in the right place and with the right people.

With your help we will be able to secure the van and ensure that it’s running well for many years to come. In addition to picking up our newest neighbors when they arrive at the airport, we will also use the van for programmatic needs including job interviews, medical appointments, and cultural competency training.

Helping new neighbors feel welcome in Pittsburgh takes a lot of effort and resources.

As our programming and services expand, we will continue welcoming new neighbors with open arms–but we can’t do it alone!

Give New Neighbors the Bright Futures They Deserve

To help give our neighbors safe and reliable rides on the journey ahead, we have set out to raise $100,000 from now through December 31st.

Your gift funds far beyond the van’s purchase - it allows us to cover years of maintenance and programmatic expenses from taking new neighbors home the first time they land in Pittsburgh, all the way to medical appointments, events for school-aged children, employment training, and more.

Will you help us reach our goal?

Shine a Light on the Journey Ahead

Now is the time to support our nation’s newest neighbors, and as we work to ensure every refugee and immigrant family has a safe journey home, we need your support now more than ever.

Together, we have made a huge impact in creating a community that welcomes our immigrant and refugee neighbors, but there’s still more we can do. Will you help us go far?

“The Cowan family was so friendly, and I was touched by how happy our kids were playing together. The minimum number of hours families in the program needed to meet was about 8-10 hours but I knew right away that we would meet far more often than that. We learned so much about each other’s cultures. They told me about the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, where we explored parks together on the weekends. I will never forget when my family had our first Thanksgiving celebration at the Cowans’ home, including our first time trying turkey! We had the chance to meet David’s parents and built such a good relationship, I can now say we are like family to each other.”

“Eighteen months ago my husband, David, and I moved to Pittsburgh to meet new people and embrace the challenges of getting to know a new city. One of the first things we did was buy the December copy of Pittsburgh Magazine, which outlined “32 reasons to Love Pittsburgh.” Hello Neighbor was #11! It sounded wonderful so I immediately registered to volunteer and the rest is history. Through my assignments delivering meals, setting up households, space-planning storage spaces at Hello Neighbor offices, I’ve met and worked with scores of fabulous staff, dedicated volunteers, and lovely clients. There are many reasons we love our new hometown; Hello Neighbor is at the top of our list.”
