Big Dreams for the Future of Hello Neighbor

We have big dreams for making Pittsburgh a place where all can feel at home.

In 2019, Hello Neighbor was selected to be the recipient of Pittsburgh-based architecture and urban design firm Rothschild Doyno Collaborative’s inaugural Day of Service! During the Day of Service, Rothschild Doyno Collaborative provided pro bono architectural design services and conducted a Design Sketchbook Workshop to help Hello Neighbor design a space to hold all our big dreams for the future.

During the Day of Service, architects and planners from Rothschild Doyno collaborated with Hello Neighbor staff, mentors, mentees, and friends to cast vision for a future space where the community could come together and celebrate diversity.

“We’re excited to share our collaboration with Hello Neighbor, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of refugee and immigrant families in Pittsburgh…The Hello Neighbor Clubhouse will be a community space that will serve not only the refugee families but provide every Pittsburgher with a multi-cultural space for social inclusion.” - Rothschild Doyno Collaborative.

Hello Neighbor Clubhouse

It is during the Day of Servcie that the idea for The Hello Neighbor Clubhouse was born. This clubhouse is the result of the collaborative effort, ideas and vision of all project participants, from Rothschild Doyno Collaborative’s most talented architects to Hello Neighbor team members and the parents and young children of our mentor and mentee families.

This is a multi-year plan and we are still in the very early stages of identifying prospective locations for the clubhouse and planning our fundraising initiative. We recognize that this plan requires major funds and community support, however we’re confident that this dream can become a reality with the help of the incredibly dedicated supporters, dreamers, and go-getters Hello Neighbor has in our corner. We’ve been so inspired by the support we’ve seen over the past 3 years of Pittsburghers eager to welcome and support their refugee neighbors, and with a community like you we know that anything is possible.

To our mentors and mentees, volunteers, partners, supporters, champions and friends–you have inspired us to dream BIG for the future.

A Step In The Right Direction

As many of you know, we recently moved out of a coworking office space and into a place of our very own. This move is a big step toward the dream you see above. For the first time with a space of our own, we will be able to conduct trainings and classes for our mentor and mentee families, host events for the community, and open up our office as a place of welcoming where people can build new friendships and know that they belong.

We love visitors! Feel free to stop by our new office space anytime and say hello!

Our new address is 6587 Hamilton Avenue, #1E, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
