Learn more about program details and upcoming deadlines

We run on a cohort model, which means your entire class will start at the same time. Our next cohort will kickoff in June 2019.

Primary Expectations

  • Commit to an initial 6-month matching period
  • Spend 10 hours per month with your mentee
  • Communication with Hello Neighbor
  • Attendance at Hello Neighbor events
  • Be a friend
  • Advocate for Hello Neighbor

Hello Neighbor is committed to you giving as much as you get during your mentorship. That is why during the program you receive mandatory orientation training to understand refugee and immigrant issues as well as a workbook that guides you through the mentoring program and gives you the tools and resources necessary to succeed with your match family.

We also host Hello Neighbor events for our match families to have everyone interact with each other and help introduce Pittsburgh. You will have a dedicated Hello Neighbor staff person for ongoing case support to support your relationship as it grows.

We are currently in the process of launching our fourth cohort.
